St Marys @ The Park Big Bake Sale

All next week at nursery we will be selling cake and tasty treats to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. This is a very worthy charity so please bring your spare change along and buy yourself a cake or two. Cakes and treats will have been made by the nursery children, donations from children's families and made by our resident baker Amanda. kgcakes Amanda Halstead on Facebook.

Eid Celebrations

The children have enjoyed a fun filled week of activities to celebrate the festival of Eid. We have made Eid cards, potato printing stars and moons, made samosas, created Mehndi patterns using writing tools on paper hands and henna on real hands and done lots of Asian dancing with bangles and scarves to enhance the experience. Ayyan, Husnain, Burhan and Zain's Mummy's very kindly came in to help us with our activities and the week ended with parties full of dancing and tasty treats, thank you to all our parents who brought food in for the parties. Key Workers

Children have now been allocated a Key Worker. The Key Worker will have responsibility for observations on your child and planning next steps to help develop their learning in all aspects of the curriculum. They will compile your child's Learning Journal and work on any additional areas that need further support. The general day to day care of the children will be down to the staff team as a whole. If you have any questions about your child's key worker then please speak to Amanda. Key Worker lists are displayed in the cloak room area.

The Nursery photographer will be visiting the nursery sites soon, unfortunately we don’t have the room here for the photographer but we would like to invite all our children to attend St Marys @ The College or St Marys @ Wensley Fold if you would like your child’s photo taken. You will then have the option to buy them if you want to. Photographs will be taken at St Marys @ The College on Thursday 6^th November and at St Marys @ Wensley Fold on Friday 7^th November. If you would like your child to have their photo taken then please speak to Amanda.

 

Eid Party

Eid Party

We will be celebrating Eid with a variety of activities during w/c 22/09/2012. This will end with Eid partys. The MORNING children’s party will be on Thursday 25^th September and the AFTERNOON children’s party will be on Friday 26^th September and children can dress up for the occasion. We are asking parents to bring in a food contribution for the party. Please bring this with you on the day. If you have any further questions please speak to a member of the team.

 

September Newsletter

Autumn Term

During the Autumn term we will be exploring lots of exciting activities that will support your child settling into nursery life. We will be developing skills such as sharing, communicating, being around and accepting others, making friends, good sitting, good looking, good listening, good talking. We will be supporting your children in understanding the rules and boundaries of the setting and promoting positive behaviour.

At the end of September we will be selling cakes and treats to raise money for a cancer charity. Further information will be given nearer the time. If you know anyone who enjoys baking and would like to donate any baking to our sale then please speak to a member of staff.
