Wellbeing Wednesday, Rest and Relaxation
We have had a chilled out morning, talking about the importance of having rest to re energise our bodies. The children have had warm toast and hot chocolate for snack and we have read lots of lovely bed time stories. We hope that the information we sent home will help ensure that all our children have a good bedtime routine and plenty of sleep so they are ready for learning and exploring at nursery.

Mrs Bee and Mrs Ladybird would like to say a special goodbye to all our little bugs off to school this year. Good luck and best wishes to each and every one of you and we hope you enjoy your time at school. Please come and visit us in your uniforms x
Ugly Bug Ball AM
A morning of fun at the Ugly Bug Ball. The children made their own sandwiches and we went of for a walk around the park looking at all the changes the summer has brought. We tackled physical challenges and had our picnic in the park before returning to nursery for our leavers presentation.
Pjyama Day
Tomorrow is our last Well Being Wednesday of the academic
year. We will be exploring the importance of rest with the children. Please
dress your child in their pyjamas and children can bring in their favourite
bedtime story book. We will be sending home some information for parents about
bedtime routines and the importance of sleep.

Suggestions/Improvements
“overall we are satisfied
with St Marys Nursery security but I would like to suggest about taking more
and extra care of the children when they play outside in playing areas”
“keep eye on all children
at all times. Avoid incident or accident happening inside or outside play area”
We
understand that it is difficult for parents to see that their child has had an
accident. At St Mary’s nurseries staff are rigorous at recording all ‘accidents’,
many accidents are things that at home parents would just dust their children
off and carry on, but in a setting it is good practise to record them to make
parents aware of what has happened. We have strict ratios at nursery and these
are always maintained. I can ensure you your children are very much cared for
and watched at all times. Sometimes children fall right in front of us. We
cannot prevent all accidents from happening. The nursery environment is a lot
different than the home environment, it is a lot busier and children have
access to a lot more resources and equipment. Risk assessments have been
carried out on all areas of the nursery and are updated regularly. Nursery
provides an environment where children are encouraged to take risks and develop
confidence in the environment to learn how to stay safe themselves. The
majority of accidents are minor bumps and scrapes. These are logged at nursery
and reported weekly to our Estates Manager at St Marys College who is the
Health and Safety representative. If any serious incident occurs these are
always reported in full to Ofsted. All of our children in our care are loved
and cared for by all our practitioners.

Pretty Muddy, Race for Life
Thank you to everyone who sponsored me for my Pretty Muddy, Race for Life for Cancer Research. The race was a huge success. I ran alongside some other members of the St Marys family from our sister site nursery at Wensley Fold. We arrived for our pre race warm up before completing a 5K run involving several muddy obstacles along the way, it was a fun and worthwhile way of raising money for such a great cause. Riley was there to greet his mummy at the finish line with a beautiful Cancer Research pink Gerbera but would not give his mummy a big cuddle!! I am now collecting all my sponsor money in and will let you know the final total raised. If you would like to sponsor me you have up to Wednesday to do so. Thank you all for your support x Amanda
