Eid-al-Adha
We will be
celebrating Eid next Wednesday 23rd September in nursery. Can all
children please wear traditional Asian dress. We will be enhancing the nursery areas
with lots of different activities to celebrate Eid.
Children will be using paints to create their own mehndi patterns, exploring painting on paper on a larger scale.
We will be creating mosques, using creative resources, building with boxes and materials, promoting children's creative and critical thinking.
We will also be building Mosques with wooden blocks, encouraging children to build and balance, sharing resources and working together.
Children will be enjoying tastes of Asia with our tasting table, sampling lots of lovely, fresh tasty, savoury treats that our parents bring in from home.
Don’t forget to bring in your photos of your families to display on our family wall. Photos will be returned later in the term.

Early Years Professionals in the kitchen
As part of
our All About Me topic we are exploring the kitchens of the staff. Our roleplay
kitchen will be enhanced weekly to reflect the types of things the staff would
be cooking at home. We are starting this with ‘Roxy’s Kitchen’. To start our Eid celebrations Roxy will be
exploring making chapattis with the children and discovering lots of different
spices. The children will use real chapattis and flour in the role play to copy what they have observed Roxy doing and try it for themselves. If you have any spare Asian cookware that you no longer use we would
love to use it to develop our kitchen area.
