We didn't have a great response with the Children In Need Sweepstake, so the winning total was only £7. We still drew a winner which was Susan. Susan's guess of how many spots on the cake, was the closest to the actual amount of 821. Susan has decided to donate her winnings to the Alzheimers Society.

Children In Need
St Marys @ The Park went all spotty on Friday 18th November for Children In Need. Practitioners and children dressed in spots and gave £1.00 donation for the charity. Children also took part in a variety of spotty related activities.
The children developed their problem solving and matching skills, improving their maths skills by matching spotty and other patterns.
Children decorated paper plates with a variety of different coloured spots, while practitioners talked about spots, circles and things that are round. Children were encouraged to think of other things in their environment that are round. The plates were then made into baubels for a Christmas display.
The children developed their physical skills jumping in and out of spots, moving in different ways and following instrctions.
The children were encouraged to match different sized spots to their outline, supporting children's mathematical development, looking at different sizes, solving maths problems and exploring prediction.

Sacred Heart
Our friends at Sacred Heart invited us to join them for their Open Day Thursday 11th November. The children had a look around the school and met some of our St Marys children who are now at school. The children also stayed and a had a drink. All the children adapted to the change in their routine and behaved appropriately which supports their Personal and Social development.

More Conker Creations
Suhaib and his family created a selection of different characters with his conkers, including pumpkins, ladybirds and faces.
Rememberance Day
The children used their handprints to create some poppies which we made into beautiful wreaths to remember or service men and women this Rememberance Day. Some of the children took the wreaths down to the Cenotaph in Coporation Park. Practitioners have talked to the children about the symbol of the Poppy supporting our St Marys Values, Mutual Respect an Tolerance.

Halloween Fun
The children had fun and laughter taking part in Halloween activities. We had a special Wake and Shake to The Monster Mash, children wrapped practitioners up like mummies during group time, children created their own Halloween potions, we read and acted out the story of Winnie the Witch using props and puppets and the children went Trick o' Treating in the park, finding spooky characters along the way and collecting Halloween goodies.
