Roxy's Kitchen

As part of our topic on 'All About Me' we enhanced our role play area to suit Early Years Practitioners kitchen's at home. This was to enable the children to have an insight into the differences between all the teachers, encourage conversations between children and adults and children and their friends and to encourage children to get involved, take turns and share different resources. The topic started with Roxy's Kitchen. Roxy firstly used playdough to represent rotis and encouraged children to take on a role in their play and act out making them. Roxy then moved on to modelling how real rotis are made, using a traditional chakla and velan to role out the dough. Roxy cooked the rotis and the children were then able to sample them freshly made.
