Post Office Topic

Next week we will be writing our own letters and posting them to our home address to learn about postal workers and the journey of a letter. The activity will promote children's pre-writing skills and encourage children to ascribe meaning to the marks they make, talking about what they have wrote in their letter. Practitioners can also asses children's mark making development and plan next steps.The children will need to bring in 50p for a stamp. All children who bring their money in will go to the post office and post their own letter. This is a great opportunity for them to learn through real life experiencs. Children will also discuss their addresses and talk about where they live, learning about he world around them. Once you receive your letter at home please open it and discuss the letter with your child and then return it to nursery. We will display all the letters we receive for further discussions in nursery and to celebrate our home/nursery links.
