Crime Scenes

As part of our child lead topic we have been exploring The Police which is an interest of one of our children. We have been setting up 'crimes' for the children to develop their ability to create and think critically. Critical thinking is one of the characteristics of effective learning. Supporting these characteristics underpin learning and development across all areas and support the child to remain an effective and motivated learner.

The children took on the challenge of the cat being stuck up on the post. They were asked by the police to help rescue the cat. The children worked together and came up with many different ideas, they made predictions and tested their ideas. They made decisions about how to approach a task, solve a problem and reach a goal. They changed their strategy as needed and they found new ways to do things.
