Growing Cress

Thank you to everyone who brought back their cress observation sheets. I hope your children showed interest in the seeds growing and helped to water them and ensure they had adequate light. The activity was to encourage children to notice change and be able to talk about what is happening. We have been focusing on this development matter as part of The World which is an aspect of the Understanding The World area of development. Children have also planted butter beans in food bags on the windows, watched strawberry plants grow, planted flower seeds, observed caterpillars turning into butterflies and are currently observing tadpoles. They have been encourged to talk about what is happening and predict things that might happen.
