A day at the vets

The role play area has been enhanced as a vets as we carry out our topic on animals. The children have took on the roll of the vet, examining animals and giving them medicine or bandaging their limbs. Practitioners have provided new language for children and supported them in their understanding of the role of a vet. Role play is great for developing a wide range of skills and children's confidence. They imitate what adults do and use their own personal experiences to influence their play. They build stories around what they are playing with and create props to support their play.
