This week we took our P.E. lesson into the park. The children were encouraged to use the fallen tree to climb on, balance along, jump off and crawl under. They all showed different skills and were enthusiastic about having a go.

School Readiness 2018/2019
Blackburn with Darwen are launching their new School Readiness documentation from September 2018. Their is a whole set of new procedures we will be carrying out. All pre-school children will have an assessment carried out during the Autumn term on school readiness. This will asses a range of skills such as putting on their own coat, turn taking, using the toilet independently, listening skills, friendships etc E.Y.P.'s will then work on developing any areas that children cannot do independently. There will also be a parent's session each term to discuss their child's progress and plan targets for the following term. There is also a parent's guide to support your child at home in preparing them for school. This will be given out during our first week back in September. If you have any further questions please speak to Amanda. School applications must be completed during the Autumn Term. Please keep an eye on the blog for further information.

Nursery will close on Friday 13th for the Summer Holidays. May I take this opportunity to thank all our parents for their support over this last academic year. We wish all our pre-school children the best in their new schools. We look forward to meeting all our new families in September and welcoming all our existing families back. We hope you all have a lovely summer. Pre-schoolers Leaving Party
The pre-schoolers celebrated their St Marys Journey's with a Gruffalo hunt in the park. They followed the story in the book and went looking for all the different animals including the Gruffalo himself. The children had a picnic in the park and celebrated their time at nursery. May we take this opportunity to wish all our children good luck for their new journey's into school. We will miss everyone greatly, including all the parents who have supported us over the last year or two. It has been lovely to meet you all.
