In the moment tools

The children were using bricks and sand in the malleable area. One child was using a stick to represent a hammer. An E.Y.P. introduced them to a real hammer and other working tools for them to explore. They spent time using the tools showing great curiosity and a 'can do' attitude. The children maintained focus on their activity for a long time and persisted when challenge occurred.
