Invitation to learning - construction site

After building block walls in the malleable tray, some of the boys took the diggers in their and were using their imaginations to transport the sand and dig with it. E.Y.P. extended this play by adding a second texture to the tray, bark. An invitation to learning was then created in the kitchen area, allowing bigger play. Sand and bark was added to the play and planks and stumps were used along with tyres and blocks to create a construction site. Big and little diggers and construction vehicles were added to add mathematical language to play.
