World Book Day

We have had a great time celebrating World Book Day today. We had a great number of children dressing up as different characters. The children have embraced this years theme of 'Sharing a Story' and listened to many different stories today. We have been very lucky to have a visit from both St Silas and Sacred Heart School who came to read to the children.
The children have all received a Reading Stars challenge sheet and are invited to achieve as many of the stars as possible. You can email photos of your children achieving their stars to a.halstead@stmarysblackburn.ac.uk All completed sheets and photos will be added to your child's learning journal and they will receive a special award certificate.
The children will also receive a World Book Day Token which can be redeemed at participating stores for a free book.
