Exploring The Sky

We have kicked off the new year exploring the topic of Sky. The children have been learning about Space, looking at planets and space ships. We have learnt lots of new songs about flying in space. To increase children's experiences of using shapes they have been using wooden blocks to build their own space rockets and using paper shapes to create space rockets. Practitioners have been talking to children about the names of shapes and also how they look, talking about sides, corners etc. Children have also been encouraged to make links to their environment finding shapes in everyday objects.
