In the moment planning

You may have heard the term ‘in the moment planning’.
The idea is to capture the interest of a child or children in the present moment.
Young children have a natural desire to learn, explore and question. We offer an environment that enables child-initiated play in order to capture the moment of engagement. Careful observation by practitioners is key to utilising the approach. Opportunities to seize the moment when a child shows interest in an activity which can be built upon needs to be recognised. Practitioners will then support children in extending their learning.

Following are some of our recent 'In the moments'

One of our children had noticed a piece of paper aan E.Y.P. had, had soaked up some water from the unit. The E.Y.P. went on to support him in exploring how different types of paper soak water up. We discivered that crepe paper leaves its colour behind when wet and went on to use pieces of crepe paper to create art.
