In the moment tea party

The children initiated their own tea party. Many of the children showed great interest in this activity and particularly enjoyed using the tea pots for pouring.

We extended this learning by setting up an Invitation to Learning where children were invited to explore making tea and coffee. They used the tea pots with warm water in and tea bags and coffee. The activity developed to include milk and sugar as the children made cup after cup, stirring and mixing and pouring, talking about their experiences and quantity and making links with what they know.

This week we will extend the activity further by providing resources for children to make their own sandwiches and then have a tea party with all their friends.
