Wellbeing Wednesday - March

March's wellbeing Wednesday saw the children dressing in green. Our safety messgae was Stranger Danger. Children learnt about the importance of holding hands with an adult when out and about to ensure they do not get lost. We talked about Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs, discussing the starnger (the wolf) from the stories and how children can keep themsleves safe by not talking to people they don't know. We identified who strangers were and how to look for safe strangers in case children do become seperated from their parents when out and about. Parents also received some safety information about how they can discuss stranger danger at home.
For our health message we looked at exercise and the children took part in an obstacle course activity encouraging exploring and discovering the effects exercise has on their bodies. The children were encouraged to move in a variety of different ways and the obstacle course involved climbing, balancing, crawling, throwing, running, cycling etc.
