Happy Halloween

This week we will be celebrating Halloween with lots of fun activities. The children will use their creative skills to decorate their own witches house. We will be carving pumpkins and using the insides to explore in the malleable tray and make some pumpkin soup for snack time. The children will listen to spooky sounds and Halloween party songs. We have special Halloween themed stories and lots of gooey surprises to enjoy. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE. If you attend any Halloween events over the holidays don't forget to email me your pictures at a.halstead@stmarysblackburn.ac.uk

10 Minute Shake Up

On Monday the children will start to take part in our Change 4 Life 10 minute Shake Up activities. This will encourage the children to be more active and enjoy physical activities. Once complete the children will receive a sticker to add to their team poster which, once complete will reveal a lovely Disney picture. The children will be in two teams, the morning children will be Team Toy Story and the afternoon children will be Team Monsters Inc.

Eid Celebrations

We hope our Park Parents and Children had a wonderful time celebrating Eid with your families. The children certainly had fun taking part in the different activities at nursery. Roxy made chapattis with the children, encouraging them to roll and share with one another while talking about Eid and how we celebrate. Children used wooden blocks indoors and large boxes outdoors to create Mosques and their own constructions. Fahmeeda encouraged the children to explore painting on a larger scale, using paints to create different patterns to represent Henna designs. The children initiated their own dancing to the Asian music that was playing and they sampled all the tasty treats that our parents brought in our Eid buffet. Thank you very much for your contributions it was a lovely day exploring the communities culture.

Parent's Session

Please ensure you complete your slip and return it to nursery to receive an appointment to speak to your child's keyworker about their progress and how they have settled into the new term.

Wensley Fold Children's Centre

The new timetable of events and activities going on at Wensley Fold Children's Centre is now available. If you are interested in attending any of the sessions then please have a look at the timetable on the board outside, next to the main nursery door and contact Wensley Fold Children's Centre to book your place or for more details.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Wednesday 7th October will be our Wellbeing Wednesday. Please dress your child in BROWN clothes. The children will be focussing on good hand washing and when to wash our hands and parents will receive information on smoking.

Healthy Challenge

Healthy Challenge – we are discussing the subjects of healthy foods at nursery. Please can you bring in one healthy and one unhealthy food item? Discuss the differences at home with your child and we will talk about it at nursery. We will then take a photo of your child with their items to form part of our display in nursery.
