Wellbeing Wednesday

This months Welbeing Wednesday we all dressed in yellow, what a beautiful colour for this weather. The pre-school children discussed the importance of staying safe near water and always being with an adult.

The children also sampled a variety of berries, learning about healthy eating. They sampled strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. They talked about their favourites and likes and dislikes, supporting our Smile 4 Life policy. A display has been created in the kitchen area of this activity if parents would like to view it.

Parent Feedback 2018

Thank you so much to all the parents who have returned their parent feedback forms. We have had a lot of wonderful comments from parents that the staff have loved to read. It rewards them for their hard work and dedication they put into St Marys @ The Park and the children and their families. We have been truly blessed with your kind words. We have explored and responded to all the suggestions to and welcome parents ideas. Please watch out for the comments and suggestions responses which will be displayed outside.

The Snack Shack

We had a lot of cakes and biscuits left over from our Eid party. We decided to turn the left overs into an educational activity. The children were each given 10 pretend pennies. They were then invited to attend Susan's Snack Shack and spend their pennies on cakes for their snack. Children were encouraged to identify numerals and count pennies, learning that the quantity changes when you take something away. Some of the children were encouraged to attempt simple subtractions, using pennies as a visual prompt.

Please note, this activity was only carried out as a treat from our Eid celebrations. St Marys is a Smile 4 Life setting and promotes healthy eating and snacking. Children were limited to how much cake they could eat.
