Learning Opportunties

To make the most of all our learning opportunities for children, as we learnt about crossing the road, we also looked for shapes and letters in the environment. Children were encouraged to talk about what they saw in the environment.

 

Mathematics - Shape, Space and Measure

 

Shows awareness of similarities of shapes in the environment.

Shows interest in shapes in the environment.

Begin to talk about the shapes of everyday objects eg round and tall.

 

Literacy - Reading

 

Shows interest in print in the environment.

Recognises familiar letters.

Knows information can be relayed in the form of print.
