The children explored making pancake mixture with Susan, talking about all the different ingredients that are needed to make the batter mix. Susan then cooked our pancakes and the children were invited to taste the pancakes with a variety of different toppings. We discussed and recorded the children's likes and dislikes to form part of our new display in the kitchen area. At story time we discussed healthy options that can be added to pancakes such as fruit to make them healthier. The children sampled the following toppings:
Banana and Honey
Apple and Jam
Sugar and Lemon
Fresh squeezed Orange
Maple Syrup
