Blackberry picking-AM children

INTENT
From the 'all about me' book parents shared their child liked picking berries 

IMPLEMENTATION
Today we ventured out into the park to pick Blackberry's

IMPACT

  • Characteristics of effective learning- using senses to explore the world around them

-showing curiosity about objects
  • Self confidence and self awareness- demonstrates sense of self as an individual, e.g. wants to do things independently, says 'no' to adult.
  • Managing feelings and behavior- responds to a few appropriate boundaries, with encouragement and support
  • Speaking- beginning to ask simple questions

-uses simple sentences 
  • Moving and handling- squats with steadiness to rest or play with object on the ground, and rises to feet without using hands
  • Numbers- uses some language of quantities, such as 'more' and 'a lot'
  • The world- notices detailed features of objects in their environment
